  • See and change your current monitor's resolutions.
*Notice: this is only a small version of the whole panel. More features such will be added soon, I hope. I'll try to update the panel once in a while, however, I'm really busy these days so it will take me some time.

Dear user,
Thank you very much for using my panel laugh.gif I hope you enjoy it. I did my best to ensure that this panel will work without any bugs. If you find any bug, or have any suggestion, feel free to report or suggest in the forums. I'll be happy to help smile.gif

Ok - I hope you'll like it biggrin.gif Enjoy:

Great panel!

The resolutions drop down stops at 1280 however.
If it wont be too much trouble, adding the following resolutions would be great.

4:3 Resolutions:
- 1600*1200
- 1792*1334
- 1824*1368
- 1856*1392
- 1920*1440
- 2048*1536
- 2560*1920

16:9 Resolutions:
- 1600*900
- 1680*1050
- 1792*1120
- 1824*1128
- 1920*1200
- 2560*1600
- 2728*1536
- 3840*2400

And also, if there is a way to switch, and see your Refresh Rates (Hz). That would be super.

Thanks anyways!

How big is your screen? Apart from 1600x1200 I've never heard of these resolutions. blink.gif

32" Hehe, I work in the broadcast/3d area, so they might be a little bit rare.. However I believe more or less all new 23" widescreen displays are configured for 1900*1200. smile.gif

Thank you very meuch for using my panel Slint laugh.gif flowers.gif I really appreciate your feedback smile.gif I took the resolutions out of my Windows Display dialog box so it showed the resolutions that my small 17" inches screen supports biggrin.gif I'll be happy to add more resolutions for you. Meanwhile you can write them in the combo box and press Enter.

Thanks again smile.gif

YYY... It's wonderful... This is just what I am looking for. Thank you thank you.. And thanks for the mention in the release info...

I'm totally happy with this, but if you were going to throw some more work into the code, here are some possible issues/enhancements...

Having it ask if these are the settings and revert back if you dont say yes. Like if I threw my refresh rate into a setting my monitor wouldnt display, I could be stuck with a display setting I cant display.

Maybe it only displays the refresh rates your monitor can support, I dont know.

Have a panel properties to allow you to select your favorite settings so you can maybe limit the list to 2 or 3 setting you use the most. That way you dont have to look (or think) as hard to find the one you are looking for.

But as is it is wonderful and will make the whole design at a higher res for viewing at lower issue I was having solved.

It works great!!!

Thank you very much for using my panel laugh.gif I'm happy to know you enjoy it smile.gif And thanks for the idea too wink.gif I'll try to implement your suggestions along with adding an option to attach/setach monitors (if I find out how to do it).

How about a button (or some UI) to show/hide desktop icons?

Details window to show current settings and panel version.

(It makes switching back and fourth easy... Since I no longer have dual monitors 1 dev, 1 preview at different resolutions, I can easily change between settings)

Maybe have settings stored in a file so users can edit the list and remove resolutions and refresh rates that they dont want or cant use.

Yes, I know - you have already requested some of these features and I'm really sorry I coudn't add them as I was working on other panels too unsure.gif I was trying to add some of these features but ran into some problems which will take time to fix. I'll try to complete the panel after I reduce some work on other panels.

BTW, the details window already shows the current status.
yoyo-pete
Oh... I wasnt getting a details window. I think I have to click that panel where some others use mouse over.

And sorry to repeat requests... I know you're busy and what not. I was just shooting out some ideas that came to me. Sort of the same idea, different concept...

And I wanted to thank you for all the hard work you put in to developing things. I look forward to see what your next projects are.
yyy
That's OK biggrin.gif I'm sorry that I couldn't do it earlier. I'm always happy to get feedback from my panel's users smile.gif

You need to put your mouse pointer over the "Resolution" text to get the details window.

I'll try to add some more features in the future.

yoyo-pete - do you really want this upgrade to the panel? Unfortunatelly, I won't be able to do it soon as I've decided to slow down my panels' development. If you really want it, I'll try to make an effort, but it'll take some time.

It works great as is... I was just offering some ideas for the next version. In my opinion, we dont even really need a next version.

If you were going to make a new version, take that stuff into account, but the panel is solid and stands on its own.

Great job man!
yyy
Ok thanks smile.gif

Display panel v. 1.5 looks really good for my ViewSonic LCD monitor Vesa 1680 X 1050 with my very old SiS651 graphics adapter. Where can i get the program? I down loaded the file on Sidebar home and there was no exe file.
What am i doing wrong?
GoMa
First download and install Desktop Sidebar from the download page if you haven't done this already. Then, download the dspackage file from the first post of this thread (direct link) and double click this file to install the panel in Desktop Sidebar.
