I've been using Bit Tornado, But I'm definatly switching to ABC to allow the nice integration with DS.
Awesome Idea!!
This is something I'll really take advantage of.
-------------------------------------------------------
I am not getting anything in the details window... But I think it is working.
I'll PM you some questions off line.

I would appreciate if someone would do some further testing for me. I need to know if:
1. ABC Panel works with later versions of DS
2. If it works in remote mode
3. If it’s works with other OS then Win XP

It seems to be working well in the latest beta build of DS...
It removed itself from the DS a few times, but I've got it working.
It doenst display anything in the details windows.
And what do you mean by key?
The auto size, gives a large blank space under it instead of just the files it is downloading.

If you open ABC Web service Tools -> Web Interface Services
You'll see the following info IP, Port and Key
IP: Loopback (if you're intending to control abc locally) and Automatic if you intending to control abc remotely from different machine
Port: Port that abc uses for Web Interface Services
Unique Key: Password to your web interface so that only person who knows the password can connect to your ABC
Hope that explains

I removed it all and reinstalled and it seems to be working much better (Not dissapearing from DS) as long as ABC is running.
If ABC isnt running, the panel will not be there (and cant be added) to DS. The iTunes Panel would be a good model to follow. It starts the scripting services and wont let you close iTunes without warning you (or iTunes warns you).
Either way you dont need iTunes running to have the panel there. With ABC you need those services running or the panel dissapears.
I'm on build 90. Has anyone else had these issues?
-----------------------------------------
Some ideas for enhancement:
1. Show details in the details window (or remove the details window)
2. Allow it to start the ABC Services when DS is started so the user doesnt have to. That way your downloads will continue.
3. Allow Drag and Drop torrent files onto the interface, the way ABC does.

1. Show details in the details window (or remove the details window)
You can show details by clicking on the file

to. That way your downloads will continue.
You can stop ABC service remotly but you can't start it. It's limitation of ABC

3. Allow Drag and Drop torrent files onto the interface, the way ABC does.
Once again can not be achieved, limitation of ABC client
For more info on ABC Interface what it can and can't do refer to the following link

I cannot get this panel to work. It says it's installed OK, but then I just get an unresponsive black square.
Any suggestions?

Correction! I got it working, but why no option to add files?! isn't that the whole point?
Prism

The point is to monitor your downloads.

Then the point is wrong, or at least inexplicably inadequate. Either way the panel is disappointing and could be an order of magnitude more useful with a minimum of extra work.

I've written a firefox extension you can download from
http://ashre.com/addabc.xpi that allows you to right click on a link and add a torrent to a remote ABC service.
It doesn't work with sites you have to log in to, or on javascript links (if the ABC guys updated their protocol so I could send torrent files instead of web links I could fix it) but combining this sidebar with firefox works pretty well.

Ok, here's the issue, I noticed a few people have gotten the black blinking square, it seems the first person was able to fix it by having ABC running, the thing is, I want this to monitor a remote install, and I don't want to install ABC on this PC. (Call me a neat freak, its a little off but it works). Anyways, is there a way to fix this so you can start the panel without ABC running (I'm going to go for manually editing the config at this point, but there should be a better way.)
BTW, I'm running XP SP2 with DS Build 90.

Try downloading it again from the extension exchange page, not from the direct link in the first post.

I'm assuming this is dead now. A shame. I seem to be having the same 'blinking black square' problem as everyone else.

Is there another panel author willing to make a new version of the ABC Torrent panel? After switching from Azureus to ABC I haven't looked back, far less resource usage and my MSN actually stays signed in, the only thing that I miss is being able to check on my torrents remotely without opening a remote desktop/vnc connection.

I thought about it too, but I'm too busy with real life work...
If someone doesn't take the challenge I may come with something in September.

Prism, for your quality work I'm willing to wait.

It'd be nice if someone picked it up sooner but since I'm on the same LAN as the ABC computer right now its not such an issue, in September I'll be 300 miles from it so then it will be more precious. Thanks for all your great panels, I love'em.

Sorry - i'm not able to answer your question about the plug in -- however I have a question about your screenshot. I love the way you set up your desktop. Would you be so kind ot share what DS skin / windowblinds skin you are using for your computer. Its sleek -- i'd like to copy
Thanks in advance
