Here is the first full release of ContactSearch. Most, if not all, of the bugs have been removed. There are still a few updates that I have planned for version 2. They include:
Global Address Book
Custom Fields on Index Card
Mouse Support
Thank you for everybody that found bugs and gave suggestions in the beta version.

Now that's pretty sweet.
What about from the Outlook Address Book for those who don't have GAL, but with multiple contact folders?

what do you mean?

benlen, an Outlook process is spawned by the panel, if you have Outlook and the panel running you need to close both to have the process terminate, the first to run creates the process and the second just re-uses it (there's no need for two processes).

Hi,
When I'm trying to install the Contact Search, I get an error saying Sidebar had a problem starting the new plugin. If I choose to enable it anyway, Sidebar gets stuck.
Any idea ?

Hi - I've been trying to load Contacts Search and get the same dialogues. The box "Failed to load resources file - check your setup" comes up. If I hit yes, my computer completely slows down and I have to restart, and the Contacts Search doesn't start up on restart. I'm running XP pro with Outlook 2003. Thanks.

I've seen that message from Outlook in a couple of different scenarios. Mainly if the PST is huge (over 1 gig), low virtual memory, or the PST is somehow locked. If that helps jgallen

You should attach your dsidebar.log so that we can get more details as to what your issue is.

Any news on the outlook process that keeps running?
I use several message profiles and have to shutdown the Sidebar when i have to change profiles. Closing outlook should "disable" the panel and function should be "enabled" again when outlook is online.
What do you think?

Will version 2 display email addresses, or do i have my plugin configured wrong? Also, someone mentioned multiple address books earlier. Will the updated version be able to pull in data from all address books i've set up?

I know nothing about programming :( Does anyone know how to walk me through, or can anyone modify the file to automatically open the actual outlook screen for the contact right away? (instead of the card version?)... There's stuff I need to see on the actual form (not on the card), and it gets a bit annoying to press edit each time, in order to open the form...
Then, since you've clicked edit... it always prompts to save changes, even though there haven't been any changes.
Otherwise this program ROCKS

I tried to install Outlook Contacts panel in windows vista, but it returns the following error:
"RegAsm: error RA0000: An error occurred while writing the registration information to the registry. You must have administrative credentials to perfor this task."
I am administrator of this desktop.
Is there any kind of incompatibility between Windows vista and this particular panel?

It was on. I turn it off and reinstall the panel now the error is:
" IPanel::Create returned: key cannot be null
Parameter name: Key
Do you want to disable ContactSearch plugin? "
then nothing else happens
