Goma:
I think you are using an old version. This should be fixed since v1.1.
TechnoMage:
Desktop Sidebar build 62 includes all 5 colors, they come from version 1.1 of my package. I never got time to test them with build 62, so I had to update my package after the release... and the result is version 1.2.

Couple problems with the skin (best skin so far ...)
Look at the attached image.
The top arrow displays the first error (Title in a stack is unreadable)
The second grouping displays errors in the gradient fill (one is darker to lighter, the other is lighter to darker)

Thats odd, I wonder if a hover state would work to fix the gradient problem? I'm gonna try that on my end real quick.

May 6 2004, 01:39 PM
It looks like a hover state for the stackbackground has yet to be implemented, meaning that theres no way to fix the gradient problem til a build comes out that corrects this.
Also, as for the lettering problem, I could find no way to properly correct this. To fix it you would have to change the standard text color to black, but that would effect it even when you wern't hovering on the stack as well - which wouldn't look right. Interesting...
Try adding:
textShadowColor = "30, 20, 0"
textShadowOffset = "1"
textMultilineShadowColor = "96, 96, 96"
textMultlineShadowOffset = "1"
after :
<item name="stackactiveacaption">
<appearance name="standard"
.
.
textShadowColor = "30, 20, 0"
textShadowOffset = "1"
textMultilineShadowColor = "96, 96, 96"
textMultlineShadowOffset = "1"
/>
in the xml file which is in your skin's directory.It will add shadow under the text and will make it easier to read,although it won't solve the prolem completely.

Good call, I didn't even think of that.

Thanks, the shadow does help somewhat.
Someone let the author know about this deficiency so that a fix can be made for a new release of DesktopSideBar. (just in case they don't review this thread).
hmmm ... looking at my sample image - sunday is Mother's Day.

Is there an MSStyle somewhere that matches the new black and green versions of OpusOS for DS?
Took a look around through the threads and can't find anything...
Thanks,

I use OpusOS-blue VS theme and Opus-Black DS theme with a black wallpaper, the result is really great.
I included black and green versions for fun, they were not in the original pack.

Is there some way to make the old Opus skins like blue, deep etc. work on new 72 or will there be soon a new release? My winamp panel and volume control is kinda crazy with it and I miss my favorite blue

only one that works is the Opus Black that comes with it... Thnx a lot

From a bug I had with WMP, I think the best for build 072 is to delete the full skin\Opus* directories in BOTH %programs%desktop sidebar\skin and in %profile%\application data\desktop sidebar\skin
Of course, to do so, you should have Desktop Sidebar stopped first.
Then you install OpusOS1.6 back.
Hope it helps!

where can i get the black Opus OS Theme(not for sidebar), i found Deep Blue and Green but not black.
Jeff-K
Sep 5 2004, 04:46 AM
Black and green themes do not exist in msstyle version (b0se's theme only has blue, deep and olive colours). These 2 extra colours were added to fit my wallpapers. Personnaly, I use the blue theme for Windows, the black skin for DS with a black wallpaper, that looks really great.
À la prochaine!

I just discovered (and loaded) the OpusOS-Olive skin...fantastic, and melds well with the XP Luna Olive theme. But...with build 75 the Volume Control doesn't work (nothing shows underneath the title bar). Switching to other themes fixes the Volume Control plugin, yet switching back to Opus/Olive the non-working Volume Control comes back.
Is this a fixable tweak by me?
Thanks,
Gary

The volume control works properly for me. Did you install my latest release? By the way, if you install the full package, you should overwrite the black skin too...
Thanx for the comment.

Great work Jeff - Opus is really coming together.
Quick ask for anyone - I need a full system icon set to match Opus, monochrome/grey would be great. I'm sure I used to have a set of 200-odd that would have suited stored on my server but I cant find them.
Deviant doesnt seem to have what I need - can anyone help?

Hi have installed version 1.6 of Opus OS, over writing everything in the skins folder, and I have the same problem where by the volume control doesnt show the muted state. I have build 85 running on winxp pro sp2. All other functions/plugins that I have installed seem to work fine. Any ideas?

Thanks - doesn't help a lot but does enable me to prove that it works with Opus black and doesn't worl with Opus blue.
Is this not the "official" thread for the opus skins? I got here from a link in the extensions exchange. Does Jeff still read the forums?

I don't know if it's the latest - it's the one I got from the exchange here.
I have fixed it now - it had graphics missing for the buttons - I copied them from the black skin.
