Media Player Panel
The Media Player Panel is a very nice addition to make to your Desktop Sidebar. In order for this panel to function properly you need a Windows Media Player 9 or later on your computer. You can download latest copy for free from the Microsoft Windows Media website.
Follow these steps to access the options for the Media Player Panel:
- Right mouse click on the Media Player Panel and choose Panel Properties
- Enabling Show only minidisplay will display one line of text above the media player buttons that switches between the Artist, Album, and Song Title.
- Enabling Scroll media info will display the song information in a marque style rather than switching between the song’s information.
- Enabling Show full size display will display the Artist, Album, and Song Title at the same time.
- Enabling the Show visualization option will the display a standard visualization above the song information. The included visualization is not customizable, simple yet entertaining. Also, if you play a video file through the media player it will be displayed in the visualization window.
- The next option is only available if Show only minidisplay is enabled.
When you right click on the Media Player Panel you will see a list of commands that you can choose. These commands allow you to control the playback of Media Player from your Desktop Sidebar.
- The top of the menu will show you the CD/DVD drives available and their contents. Selecting any of these will instruct the Media Player to start playing the selected CD/DVD.
- The Artists, Albums, Genres, Radio Stations, My Playlists, and Auto Playlists options will provide a second tier of menu containing media files arranged by the menu title selected. Selecting any of the items from that second menu will instruct the Media Player to start playing the selected media.
- All Music will instruct the Media Player to start playing through your entire media collection.
- Toggle Player will show/hide the view of the Media Player.
- Play will instruct the Media Player to start playing the current file in the Media Player or pause the file currently playing.
